The inside midfielder polled an impressive nine votes to finish with the third most Brownlow votes by a Tigers player behind Dustin Martin (21) and Trent Cotchin (17).
Alex Rance (eight votes) and Brandon Ellis (seven) rounded out the top five at Richmond.
But all Tigers were well behind the winner and pre-count favourite, Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe, who polled 31 votes.
The 24-year-old – the youngest winner since Adam Cooney in 2008 – beat last year’s Brownlow medallist, West Coast’s Matt Priddis, by just three votes.
Former Greater Western Sydney player Miles had his best ever season in the AFL and had only ever polled four Brownlow votes previously.
Myrtleford-raised midfielder Jack Crisp also had his best season in the AFL.
Crisp joined Collingwood from the Brisbane Lions this season and polled his first ever Brownlow votes to finish with four.
Only Dane Swan, Scott Pendlebury and Steele Sidebottom polled more votes than Crisp at the Magpies.
Wodonga’s Jack Ziebell polled eight votes for North Melbourne but was ineligible because of suspension.
And Benalla’s Tom Rockliff polled four votes from 16 games for the Brisbane Lions.
The Lions’ captain polled 15 in the 2014 season.
