The 45-year-old man had been conducting deliveries in Albury on Sunday night when he crashed.
He was reversing out of Abikhair Lane near David Street when his truck hit a brick wall.
The impact caused the wall to tip and there were fears the bricks would collapse.
The truck also hit gas metres on both sides of the wall, creating fire concerns.
Police and firefighters were called to the scene about 7.30pm.
Acting Inspector Tim Winkleman said no-one had been injured.
“The driver collided with the supporting pole, which caused the brick wall to receive several fractures,” he said.
“It became structurally unstable.
“Witnesses called police after after two gas meters on the wall became damaged.
“Police and firefighters attended the scene and inspected the damage.”
Emergency services left the scene after examining the wall.
Several fractures were visible in the wall, which are expected to be examined by structural engineers at some stage.
The scene of the incident is at the back of the Zambrero restaurant which fronts Dean Street.
It's not known what the driver had been delivering at the time of the accident.
The driver, who was using a three-tonne truck, is expected to receive an infringement notice.
