A dance-loving lesbian couple has been inundated with offers of sperm after taking to social media in search of a volunteer father.
Ashleigh Habgood and Alley Williams (dance teachers in New Zealand) posted their plea on Monday in hopes of finding a "cool dude" with a clean medical history to donate sperm.
"We advertise on FB for everything else so why not a sperm donor. That's right. We need sperm!," Habgood wrote.
Their ideal man: an All Black rugby player who is also an amazing lover (even though sex may not part of the deal, remote insemination preferred). But failing that, an intelligent and tall man who is under 45 years old and successful, with a kind heart.
"We love kids! We already have 800 of them that we teach every week but we want our own little one," they wrote. "Have you got the Spermfactor?"
The newlywed couple said it takes 18 months to get go through official sperm donation channels.
The post has been shared more than 100 times and it seems more than one willing donor has been willing to front up.
Habgood said the response from men had been insane and the pair would print out their profiles before making a decision.
She said that insemination means the donor would have no legal rights to the child, get no say over how the baby is raised and would not be asked to pay anything.
But they are keen to find someone who is interested in being present for the child's birthdays, at least.
