A witness, who is friend with the youths, captured the abuse on video which has since been handed to police.
Teenagers had been sitting near the canteen when a woman began yelling at the group.
She asked for a boy who she believed had stolen the item.
The witness said a boy, 17, had attempted to explain they didn't know where the accused thief was.
After a series of verbal and physical outbursts, the 17-year-old was grabbed by a man and threatened with a torch pressed up to his neck.
The video depicts two women and the man dragging the boy to the grass where they punched and kicked him.
“We are appalled adults would bash a kid like that,” she said.
