Steve and Jake Shelley drove their Lotus Elise to a commanding victory on Sunday, winning by over a minute from the Ginetta of Craig and Adam Burgess.
The BMW M Coupe of Calum Ballinger and Neil Dedrie was third.
After qualifying fourth, the Shelley team led 64 of the race’s 100 laps, also clinching the Australian Endurance Championship title following their win in the Valvoline Wakefield 300 earlier in the year, and a top five finish in the Willowbank 300.
The Shelleys had qualified in the fastest division, and were required to make two five-minute pit stops.
But they were able to complete both those stops under safety car conditions, Jake taking over from his father on lap 40 for the run home.
“The safety cars came at a wonderful time for us, they really suited our strategy,” Steve said.
“I had some fun battles and to win two 300s in the same season is a fantastic result.”
