The crowd has mobbed the Pigeons players, but I'm sure there's some emotional blokes in there after losing the previous three grand finals and finally triumphing in a truly extraordinary year of Ovens and Murray football.

FULL-TIME SCORE: Yarrawonga 14.9 (93) def. Albury 12.9 (81).
GAME OVER! Yarrawonga has broken the drought!
QTR4 30.30mins: GOAL! Lonnie Hampton kicks ANOTHER late Tiger goal, the margin 12 points with less than a minute to play.
QTR4 28.30mins: Good fight on in the middle of the ground, Will Smith was intrinsically involved and he comes off now for the blood rule.
QTR4 27MINS GOAL! Jay Koehler kicks another one for Albury... 93-75 now
QTR4 25.47mins GOAL! Albury brings the lead back to 24 points, but it's not going to be a long quarter...
QTR4 23mins: GOAL! Albury gets another. They're a proud group and they're not letting the flood gates open. YARRAWONGA 14.9 (93) to ALBURY 9.9 (63).
QTR4 17MINS: GOAL! Albury pegs one back, the score 14.9 (93) to 8.9 (57).
QTR4 12:50mins GOAL! It's celebration time now for Yarrawonga as Jeremy O'Brien slots one and the Pigeons allow themselves to really celebrate that one... led by Fev! YARRA 14.9 (93) to 7.8 (50).
QTR4 11mins: GOAL! Fevola seals it! he kicks his fifth and Yarra lead by 37.
Just as the fat lady winds up, Justin Carey kicks his third for Albury.
QTR4 10mins: GOAL!
QTR4 9MINS: GOAL! Craig Ednie gets it on the run. That hurts!
QTR4 8mins: Yarra starting to control play again, Xavier Leslie terrific.
QTR4 7mins: Andy Carey now playing on Fev... That leaves a lot on Matt Fowler's shoulders.
QTR4 5mins: This time Matt Fowler misses a set shot, but he was 55metres out.
QTR4 4MINS: BEHIND... Fev takes a strong mark against Will Smith but misses from 15 metres out. YARRAWONGA 11.9 (75) to 66 (42)
QTR4 2:50mins: GOAL! Justin Carey marks and snags his second and gets Albury the vital goal they needed.
QTR4 2mins: The ball ends up out of bounds on the full, Yarra clear.
QTR4: We're off! Albury goes forward straight away, throw-in 10m from goal.
GROUP 9: ALBURY THUNDER has defeated South City - big cheer around the ground here at Lavington as news spreads.
SUMMARY: I'm not brave enough to write-off the champs yet, but next goal is vital. The Tigers really lifted in the last 10mins of that quarter, and although they weren't really rewarded, they at least prevented Yarrawonga from putting the game completely beyond reach.
Have the tired and under-manned Tigers given their best - or can they muster some of that TBS kicking at the scoring end? We're about to find out.
First goal crucial.
Back to the Joel Mackie injury, he stayed on the ground after a heavy contest holding his lower leg - may have been cramp, but I'll keep you posted.
THREE-QUARTER-TIME: YARRAWONGA 11.8 (74) to ALBURY 5.6 (36)
QTR3 28mins: Joel Mackie hurt.
GROUP 9: Albury Thunder back in front by 10.
Albury really trying to lift but not having an impact. Joel O'Connell put in huge effort against bigger opponents to win footy and send it inside 50, only to have Lonnie Hampton miss everything.
QTR3 23mins: Chris Hyde hobbling off the ground, as Joel Mackie misses what he should have kicked after taking a strong mark.
QTR3 20mins: Packer, Daly, Gaylard, Fowler - you can see them all trying to lift their team but their blows aren't landing.
QTR3 16mins: GOAL! Fevola gets his fourth. A clever snap under pressure from 20 metres out, and that makes it really hard now. YARRAWONGA 11.7 (73) to ALBURY 5.5 (35).
QTR3 15mins: Rushed behind from a Charlie Gaylard long bomb. Matt Fowler off the ground with the blood rule after he threw his body around at a contested ball. The lead is 32 points.
QTR3 12mins: Brad O'Connor misses a set-shot, with the life going out of this match a little bit. Albury has to find some energy - who's going to lift?
QTR3 10mins: GOAL! Captain Charles Gaylard pegs one back, but it was hard work. YARRAWONGA 10.6 (66) to 5.4 (34).
CROWD FIGURE: A massive 12,068. That's a record.
QTR3 6.30mins: YARRAWONGA 10.5 (65) to ALBURY 4.4 (28).
QTR3 5.40mins: GOAL! Yarrawonga draws first blood in the second half via Marcus McMillan, who marks and goals form almost the same spot he did in the first quarter.
GROUP 9: South City now leading Albury 20-18.
QTR3 1:50min: Albury's Sammy Milne is strapped up and back on the ground, but Tigers are still missing Caldwell and Thompson, both with hamstrings. Ouch.
QTR3: We're back playing, as South City score again in the Group 9 GF.
Okay, Yarrawonga is back on the ground, waiting on the Tigers.
In the Group 9, Albury Thunder is 18-8 up at half-time.
SUMMARY: Albury looks pretty dejected coming from the ground, and understandably. They trail by 31 points and it's a bit hard at the moment to see where their goals are going to come from.
The most obvious difference at the moment is how each side goes forward - Yarrawonga move the ball quickly and confident through the midfield and when they have time to lift the eyes, they see at least two or three good targets presenting.
Albury is moving the ball more slowly and they've been guilty of bombing in hope on may occasions.
HALF-TIME: Yarrawonga 9.5 (59) lead Albury 4.4 (28).
QTR2 26MINS: Albury is in the wars. Sammy Milne and Michael Thomspon are both down in the room with injuries. This mountain is starting to look very difficult to climb at YARRAWONGA 9.5 (59) to ALBURY 4.4 (28)
QTR2 24MINS: GOAL! Fevola gets an easy one out the back - his opponent, Koehler, attacked the contest and spoiled well while Fev ducked out the pack of the pack in the goalsquare. Tyler Bonat brilliantly won a hard ball and Fev was the recipient of an easy mark.
QTR2 22MINS: O'Brien just missed a set shot for Yarrawonga. 8.5 (53) to 4.4 (28)
QTR2 21MINS: Albury winning its fair share of ball through the middle but there's no system in the way they're going inside 50.
QTR2 18mins: GOAL! Right on cue, Shaun Daly intercepts a clearing kick from Yarra's defence, and the ball end up with Luke Daly who snaps truly. A much needed goal! YARRA 8.4 (52) to 4.4 (28).
QTR16mins: Albury struggling for cohesion but Shaun Daly doing his best to lift them. Has stepped up.
NETBALL: Yarrawonga wins its fourth consecutive A-Grade premiership, defeating Rovers comprehensively. I'll get a score at half-time.
GROUP 9 UPDATE: Albury Thunder leading South City 6-0.
QTR2 12mins: GOAL! Fevola is the recipient of a down-the-ground free kick after Ednie ended up on his backside off the ball. I didn't see it, so can't comment on its legitimacy, but fair to say Albury did not need that then. YARRA 8.4 (52) to Albury 3.2 (20).
QTR2 10.16mins: Geez these teams don't like each other. If they get a chance to hurt each other, they hurt each other.
QTR2 7mins: GOAL! Brad O'Connor snaps for the Pigeons under pressure from 30 out. Classy finish, Pigeons looking very dangerous every time they go forward. YARRAWONGA 7.4 (46) 3.2 (20).
QTR2 5:33mins: Brendan Fevola is sore. I know he has a habit of looking proppy, but he really is struggling for second efforts once he hits the ground.
QTR2 4mins: GOAL! A Craig Ednie special, he wins the ball at the clearance, breaks tackes and snaps truly. Wonderful goal. YARRA 6.3 (39) 3.2 (20).
QTR2 2mins: GOAL! Luke Packer gets lucky - his long bomb goes over the back of the marking contest and rolls through for a goal!
QTR2: We're back. Yarrawonga kicking to the canteen end.
Hard to know what to make of all that - Yarrawonga jumped Albury, they attacked the ball a little bit better and got the rewards. But then Fevola and Koehler were sent off and Albury settled better. The Pigeons' backline held up well, and the Tigers didn't work around the extra man in defence as well as they would have liked.
But the game turned slightly again in the final five minutes - Yarrawonga started winning the clearances again and took the ascendancy.
In summary - Albury midfield slightly on top, Yarrawonga more efficient going forward. But that could all change now that Fevola and Koehler are back on the ground.
QUARTER-TIME: Phew! We can all take a breath now after a dramatic opening quarter. The score is YARRAWONGA 5.3 (33) to ALBURY 2.2 (14).
3:18PM: GOAL! With 30minutes gone, Jeremy O'Brien kicks a great goal for Yarrawonga. YARRA 5.3 (33) to ALBURY 2.2 (14).
3:17PM: Fevola and Koehler back on the ground.
3:16PM: GOAL! Drew Barnes earns a free-kick just inside 50 for a high-tackle, I think. Not too much protest from Albury so it must have been there. Barnes slotted the goal YARRA 4.3 (27) ALBURY 2.2 (14).
3:14PM: A behind to Yarra, but Craig Ednie looks sore. He stood up very slowly from a scrimmage and is holding his shoulder gingerly.... playing on, though.
3:11PM: Albury absolutely has the ascendancy right now - they're cleaner with the ball in hand across half-back and through the midfield. Should be noted Yarrawonga is kicking with a slight breeze, although it's tricky to deal with.
3:09PM: GOAL!! Andy Carey gets his first thanks to a clever chip from Josh Maher. He somehow found himself alone in the goalsquare. YARRA 3.1 (19) to ALBURY 2.1 (13)
3:08PM: Heath Caldwell limping from the field for Albury... Doesn't look too serious at this stage
3:06PM: Chris Hyde seems to be using his hand well - I'd say Albury has had past four inside 50s for nil result.
3:03PM: Bit of an arm-wrestle now, but Albury is controlling general play... All they have to show is a Thompson behind, though. YARRA 3.0 (18) to ALBURY 1.1 (7).
2:58PM: GOAL! The Tigers are on the board courtesy to a really strong contested mark from Justin Carey and subsequent goal. 3.0 (18) to Albury 1.0 (6).
2:57PM: GOAL! With with Fevola and Koehler both off the ground, Marcus McMillan takes a strong mark in the Pigeons' empty forward line and goals! Yarrawonga leads 3.0 (18) to Albury 0.0 (0). It's very heated out there folks!
2:55PM: Fevola has been sent from the ground! Yellow-carded for something - no one seems too sure why. Fev is furious!
2:55PM: GOAL AND ANOTHER YELLOW CARD!!
254PM: Jay Koehler was yellow-carded for that incident - off the ground for 15 mins!
2:53PM: YELLOW CARD! Oh dear, it's gone up a notch. Albury gave a way a string of free kicks, including one to Fevola off the ball in the square.
2:52PM: GOAL! We're not too sure why, but Yarrawonga earned a free off the ball - and Marcus MacMillan nailed the goal from 52m out.
2:51PM: Yarrawonga surge forward and Brendan Fevola's first kick is out of bounds.
2:50PM: And we're off! A very physical start but not too much niggle. It's all focussed on the ball, which is what we want.
2:49PM: Ok, we're ready to go now - everyone is absolutely focussed on the footy, best atmosphere I can remember here...
2:47PM: Wowee, that was an excellent rendition from Kate Hurley. Everyone stood to attention and it was a bit of a spine-tingling moment!
2:46PM: Standing for the national anthem now...
2:43PM: I saw Robert Walls out on the ground - I imagine he's going for the Tigers today.
2:40PM: Sides will start as selected. Former Richmond player Chris Hyde is out there with his injured hand... He's wearing what looks like black glove but I've watched him warm up and he is handling the ball pretty well. Just picked up one up nicely form his toes.
2:38PM: Albury bursts through its banner now, which reads "Tiger legends retire but are never forgotten", accompanied by a picture of Luke Carroll, who played in the past three flag.
2:35PM: Brian's finished, and Pigeons are coming onto the ground - as usual they've released a few pigeons to mark the occasion.
2:32PM: I can report Yarrawonga is leading Wangaratta Rovers 29-16 at half-time in the A-grade netball. The Pigeons led 21-6 early on, so the Rovers have come back a little bit.
2.30PM: There's a massive crowd here - for those that know the ground well, the Lavington Hill was packed at half-time of the reserves grand final, which I don't remember ever seeing.
2.28PM: Hello, Matt Cram here to talk you through the action. Brian Manix is now stage, and I'm glad to report he's quite good!
2PM: Already a huge crowd has gathered for today's Ovens and Murray grand final at Lavington Oval.
A full hill has watched Yarrawonga beat Lavington in the reserves grand final, suggesting a crowd of more than 10,000 will watch the main event between Yarrawonga and Albury.
Veteran rocker Brian Manix will perform shortly with the game set to start at 2.30pm, however a Lavington reserves player, Sam Hargreaves, was stretchered from the ground in the third quarter, setting the schedule back slightly.
Hargreaves suffered a heavy knock to the head in a marking contest. He is conscious but sporting a swollen eye.
In the under-18s, Wangaratta went back-to-back, beating Albury by three points, 8.11 (59) to 8.8 (56).
NETBALL: Under-16s - North Albury 39 defeated Lavington 31.
C-grade: Wangaratta 44 defeated North Albury 34
B-grade: North Albury 51 defeated Albury 40
