Rahn Deuis competed in the world’s strongest man competition in Spydeberg, Norway, at the weekend, finishing 18th out of 26 competitors from around the globe.
Family and friends travelled to Northern Europe to watch the former Galen Catholic College student compete in the under 90-kilogram category.
Deuis competed in three disciplines – the 120kg axel lift, the farmer’s walk and the tyre flip.
He performed well in the axel lift and tyre flip, but struggled in the farmer’s walk.
While disappointed not to qualify for the final, Deuis said it was an experience he would never forget.
“I’m happy with my performances in two of the three events and even happier to just be hanging with the strongest under-90kg blokes in the world,” Deuis said.
Deuis only started competing to show his son Murphy “that his dad had a go at something cool”.
