But Wahgunyah boxing duo Jason O’Rourke and Charlie Crawford did just that at the Sydney Amateur boxing Titles last weekend.
After both secured spots with the Victorian state team earlier in November, the 17-year olds both won gold in their respective classes.
Trainer Ben Ray said it was an amazing effort from the teenagers.
“It's been a pretty hectic few weeks for them,” he said.
“To perform so well with only about six fights under their belts is very impressive.”
Crawford claimed gold in the super-middleweight class after the match referee called an end to proceedings in the second round.
It was a different story for O’Rourke however, with the lightweight fighter eventually prevailing in the fourth round of his bout.
“It was gutsy from Jason, but he played it smart and won a unanimous decision,” Ray said.
