She said she had tried to escape the house through a bathroom window but it was stuck.
The woman, who recently took out an apprehended violence order against David Gregory Marshall, also said in her statement that he poured lighter fluid in her hair and lit matches and flicked them at her.
She had seen him in Albury on Monday and he had told her she could collect her television and X-box.
But when she went to his home, Marshall turned nasty. He drank alcohol, smoked cannabis and took a valium tablet before directing a tirade of abuse at her.
Marshall, 48, has been charged with detaining someone to his advantage causing actual bodily harm, reckless wounding, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contravening an apprehended violence order and custody of a knife in a public place.
His bail application in Albury Local Court was rejected yesterday and Marshall will appear again on October 22.
The woman’s apprehended violence order prevented Marshall going within 50 metres of her.
But she went to his home about 4pm on Monday and stayed for several hours after he told her she could pick up her belongings.
She said in her statements that they drank alcohol and Marshall took a valium tablet and became increasingly intoxicated.
He abused her and when she asked for her property, Marshall said she was getting nothing.
She said she was terrified when Marshall yelled, ranted and raved as she sat on a fold-out bed.
She tried to escape through a bathroom window but it was stuck.
When the woman returned to the living area, she said Marshall had pulled her clothes off leaving her in underpants. He then threw her on a bed.
“Ring the coppers now. Where are your copper mates now?” he allegedly said before putting his hands around her neck.
She found it hard to breathe before he stabbed her in the left thigh with a knife.
Marshall allegedly kept her at the house for up to four hours, put lighter fluid in her hair and flicked lit matches at her.
He smashed up his unit and pushed the woman out of his residence but then went looking for her as another man nearby phoned police and an ambulance.
Police saw Marshall riding a bicycle and followed him before he hid in a bush.
Officers said that had seen a knife handle in the front of his pants so they tasered him and found two knives.
The woman was taken to hospital with a 3 centimetre wide and deep wound to her thigh.
