The Hoppers enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, finishing fifth on the ladder ahead of Wangaratta.
In what is widely tipped to be a hotly contested competition in 2016, Boyer said the Hoppers had high expectations this year.
“Ideally we'll try to position ourselves a bit further up the ladder this season,” she said.
“The trials are always a great opportunity to get a look at the talent coming from the local area, who we can add to the squad.
“We're trialling for all three of our senior sides, and expecting about 40 girls, which is a lot to work with.
“It means we have plenty of players to rotate through, we’ve got a good number now and anything more than that will be a good result.”
Boyer said the Hoppers were happy with their gameplan, and hoped to find a touch more consistency in the coming competition.
“I don’t think there is a specific area that we need to improve on,” she said.
Trials will continue on Monday and Wednesday at Bunton Park from 6:30pm.
In other netball news, Myrtleford will be without the services of star player Saige Broz in 2016.
The 21-year old playing coach has taken a job in Melbourne and will be unavailable for the coming season.
Anndrea Grant and Bailey Lang will take over as A and B-grade coaches, with Grant paying tribute to Broz’s efforts.
“It was a big effort from her to travel up from Melbourne over the last few years, she’s certainly given us her all,” she said.
“We’ve picked up a couple of players, but it’s still very early days.”
