An 11-year-old boy found the device – which was initially thought to be live – and his grandmother contacted police.
The bomb squad and army were contacted and an army explosives expert attended the Moonya Drive home and determined the device wasn’t live.
The grenade was removed from the home for disposal.
It follows a similar discovery at White Box Rise last July.
CONCERNED: There were fears the grenade, which belonged to a man now in a nursing home, was live.
