“ANGRY” and “cross” were the reactions of two siblings evacuated from Wangaratta West Primary School.
Dylan Browne, 10, and his sister Bridget, 6, were far from happy that their day was interrupted by a hoax call which resulted in pupils being taken to a nearby oval.
“I'm a little bit angry, because we had to go out there for no reason,” Dylan said.
The grade 5 pupil said he had been told a man with a “freaky voice” had phoned to say there was a bomb at the school.
Bridget, 6, said she and her fellow grade 1s were told to grab their lunchboxes and leave their classroom.
She said a classmate was mad and she was “a little bit cross” at the incovenience.
At Yarrawonga, Kelly Rudd collected son Logan, 4, after the Yarrawonga and Preschool and Occasional Care near Sacred Heart Primary School was evacuated.
“My initial thought was it was a serious threat, I actually had thought a package was found on site,” she said.
“I found out later on it was just a recorded phone call, that did put my mind at ease a little bit, because I was unaware of that initially, it added to that scariness.”
