Representatives of Certified B Corporations – Business Growth Strategies in Wodonga and Harwood Andrews in Albury – joined other businesses from Albury-Wodonga, Beechworth and Yackandandah interested in seeking accreditation for a meeting at La Maison Cafe.
The first Border business to gain certification and the 79th in Australia or New Zealand, Business Growth Strategies co-director Rod Fraser said conscious business was a good fit for them.
“The minute we heard about it we wanted in,” he said.
Albury-based MeetPAT co-founder Nick Roseby said his company hoped to attain its B Corporation accreditation this year.
“We have a social product, an environmental product and the way we make our product is aligned with B Corporations,” Mr Roseby said.
“A lot of people have said we don’t have a traditional business model but we’ll stick with it because it’s working for us.”
