After a handful of senior games for Albury from 2005-07, the young Tiger signed with Hume League club Culcairn only to be talked into staying in the Ovens and Murray by then-coach Luke Carroll.
Four senior premierships and 149 matches later, the 28-year-old couldn’t be happier with his decision to remain at the Albury Sportsground.
The Tigers’ co-captain has also won two seconds premierships and the Leo Burke award as the league’s best and fairest reserves player, making his journey to 150 senior matches all the sweeter.
Now he has his sights set on following his uncle Rod Coelli into the 200-club at Albury.
“It was a blessing in disguise never playing a game at Culcairn,” he said.
“I made that decision when I was bit young and silly and thank god Luke Carroll helped me out.
“I wouldn’t even think about going anywhere else now.
“The club has been great to me and it’s only right to pay back that faith they’ve shown in me.”
Daly’s milestone will coincide with Cooper Page’s debut when the Tigers host Wodonga at the Albury Sportsground.
Daly said while the Tigers were undefeated after six rounds, there was room for improvement in their game.
“We’ve had patches where we’ve played great footy and patches where we’ve played ordinary footy,” he said.
“We need to find that happy medium, where we play consistently.”
