The Rovers were crushed by Yarrawonga by 98 points in round one, but have recovered to sit inside the top five with a 4-3 record.
Albury lost the corresponding fixture last year as it prepared for a finals campaign but the Hawks’ hopes of producing another upset have taken a hit with Dylan Stone (concussion), Stuart Booth (ribs) and Cody Schutt (foot), joining Carpenter (hamstring) on the sidelines.
“We don’t want our young group to go into their shells, like we did against Yarrawonga earlier in the year,” Carpenter said.
“We want to stick to the way we’ve been playing and take them on.”
The Tigers have welcomed Daniel Cross into their side.
