The Panthers set out to be a more attacking team early in the season but after losses to Myrtleford and Wodonga, they were forced to reassess their game style.
The highlight of Lavington’s season came last round against Yarrawonga when it overcame a six-goal quarter-time deficit to register a remarkable 11-point win over the Pigeons.
“When I first came to Lavi, we could be 10 goals down and still have a belief that we were in the game and I’d love to get the group believing that again,” he said.
“We’ve gone back to a bit more defence-orientated again … we changed a lot in a short period of time and we were struggling a bit.”
