The Panthers trailed by seven points at half-time but put their foot down after the break as milestone man Adam Butler and Adam Prior (seven goals) stamped their authority on the match at Lavington.
The 15.12 (102) to 11.8 (74) victory was the Panthers’ third on the trot but coach James Saker described it as “labour-intensive”.
He said Lavington would have to improve drastically if it was to challenge Albury next round.
“The third quarter was quite good but, aside from that, it was a bit of an arm wrestle and we weren’t really able to get our best brand going,” he said.
“Consistency is still our issue … we didn’t have too many four-quarter players.”
Shane Gaston continued his fine season for the Rovers, who lost Daniel McCullough to a calf injury.
