Only Wodonga Raider Brooke Pryse and Albury’s Caitlyn Gerecke played in last year’s line-up.
It’s a great experience for them
- Tamara Mathews
“It’s a really new side,” coach Tamara Mathews said.
“There is a combination of girls who play in the higher grades through to some girls who play under-16s.
“It’s a great experience for them.”
Pryse, Gerecke, Albury’s Claire Wilson, Wodonga’s Steph Gorman and Corowa-Rutherglen’s Georgie Schulz have A grade experience.
The Albury representative side and Goulburn Valley are expected to be hard to beat with the top-two advancing to the next stage in Melbourne on June 26.
The Ovens and Murray had no luck last year with injuries cruelling the side’s chances.
“We lost one girl before the day and then had three significant injuries,” she said.
“In the ended we finished with the bare minimum.”
The team is: Olivia Barber, Gabbie Star (Lavington), Ellie Dickins (Yarrawonga), Chloe Elliott, Madison O’Keefe, Mikaela Trethowan (Wangaratta), Caitlyn Gerecke, Claire Wilson (Albury), Steph Gorman (Wodonga), Georgie Schulz (CR), Georgia Thomas, Brooke Pryse (Wodonga Raiders).
