Indigo Council community recovery co-ordinator Karen Vanhuizen said residents were invited to a meeting with representatives of Victoria Police, the CFA and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning on Thursday, June 9.
“It’s an opportunity for the community to find out what actually happened on the day,” she said.
“Some have been so busy with the clean-up and haven’t had the time to ask questions regarding the fires or the recovery process and have those answered.”
Ms Vanhuizen said the meeting would be incorporated into the bushfire recovery committee report on the fires.
“We’ll look at where we can help the community with their preparedness and move forward into the future,” she said.
“We have had fires before in the Valley and there will be again.”
A dinner will be held at Middle Indigo Primary School from 6pm to 7pm. A debrief will follow until 9pm. For information, call Ms Vanhuizen on 1300 365 003.
