Lamb producers will be mixing work with pleasure when they visit local areas to see new technologies.

That’s just what’s in store for 80 lucky producers when Albury becomes the focus of all things lamb, bringing producers and industry members from all over Australia to the 2016 national LambEX.
Lamb producers will be mixing work with pleasure when they visit local areas to see new technologies and top class facilities in action. They will also have the chance to see what other producers are doing differently.
They will also get the opportunity to taste some of the area’s best food and wines.
The first LambEX pre-conference tour will indulge producers with wine and chocolate tasting. Participants will hear from the Druce family, who will share their journey of changing from a mixed farming operation to buying a factory for $1 and starting the Corowa chocolate factory. Their most recent venture into whisky showcases the beautifully old fashioned distillery (there may even be some ready for tasting).
NSW farmers president, Derek Schoen will travel with participants to discuss hot topics before they embark on an impressive up-close tour of the JBS sheep and goat processing facility. The tour will look at all facets of JBS – and you thought your butchering skills were impressive.
Tour two will be full of practical tips and tricks for prouducers to take away with them, including shed and yard design, vaccination and drenching techniques.
The latest research on influencing sex ratios using diets at joining and a look at a Bush- Stone-Curlew captive breeding program will ensure an interesting day.
The tour will also reveal how two producers are addressing labour issues in their businesses.
LambEX runs from August 11-12, with the Murray Local Land Services pre-conference tours running on August 10.
