Behind the eight-ball after a disappointing loss to Frankston last weekend, Chalmers said it was a big match for both teams.
“It’s a really important game, one that will be a real test,” he said.
“We’re respectful of the fact that Mt Gambier are still a very good team, but potentially only one of us might make the playoffs.
“It’s important that we understand that we have to be mentally and physically set for this game.
“We’re going to have to be much better than we were last week.
“I’m hoping that coming up against such a formidable opponent will push a few buttons.”
The Bandits let slip a golden opportunity to banks consecutive wins when they went down to the Blues last Saturday night.
Tip-off is at 6pm at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre.
