Frosty the snowman appeared in a Kookaburra Way front yard on Monday morning, to the delight of children and bemusement of passers-by.
David Hynd decided a weekend visit to Mount Buffalo shouldn’t end there and so brought snow back with him to build a snowman late at night.
“He's pretty big, it was an entire back of a ute completely chopped up with snow,” Mr Hynd said. “It took about an hour and a couple of the neighbours came down and said ‘What's going on?’.”
Mr Hynd’s children Henry, 6, and Ivy, 4, squealed with delight when they saw Frosty and a variety of snowball fights continued through the day.
“We got a spoon and we ground off some nice snow and we put some orange fruit juice cordial on top and all the kids went to school with frosty fruit juice slushies,” Mr Hynd said.
“It’s just to create a bit of magic for the children.”
