Lawless teamed brilliantly with the returning Brad O’Connor (five goals) as the Pigeons turned a nine-point three-quarter-time deficit into a 14.13 (97) to 10.7 (67) victory at J.C. Lowe Oval.
The Bulldogs had been well led by Matt Seiter and Jackson Heagney-Steart across the opening three quarters but were kept scoreless in the final term as the Pigeons registered just their second win in a month.
The victory keeps the Pigeons six points clear inside the top three.
