Firearms will be used during the culling operation and no entry is permitted into the reserves while the closure signs are in place until August 31.
The reserves include: Oaklands Well, Wangamong, Daysdale, Boomerang, Round Swamp Coreen, 12 Mile, Buraja, Dickins, Martindale, Quat Quatta, Depot, Croppers Lagoon, Drain Lane and Fergusons Tank.
The noisy miner is a native species but research found it was encroaching into the woodland habitat of some smaller native birds, inflicting damage into declining ecosystems even more severely than introduced species.
The program is part of the Enriching Biodiversity by Managing Travelling Stock Reserves project, funded by Murray Local Land Services and the federal government.
