A plastic seat at a playground off Broad Street was set alight about 11.30pm on Sunday.
Firefighters arrived about seven minutes after the blaze started and spent 15 minutes at the scene.
The seat was destroyed and the heat melted nearby equipment.
A metal fuel can had been dumped nearby and was still at the scene on Monday morning.
Sarvaas Park was targeted a little more than 24 hours later.
A bin appeared to have been pushed against plastic rolling tube, causing it to melt and rendering it unable to be used.
The bin and its contents – some of which was scattered nearby – were also destroyed.
It is not clear if there was any link between the incidents.
