With only percentage separating the second and third sides on the ladder with five rounds remaining, Maher said the stakes were enormous.
Both sides play Brocklesby-Burrumbuttock in the run home.
“This is our biggest test,” Maher said.
“This will really show us where we’re at.
“I think it’s pretty much do-or-die for who wants the double chance.”
While Jindera is in solid form, the Magpies have been outstanding stringing together eight successive wins.
Their last loss came against Brocklesby-Burrumbuttock in round five on May 7.
Murray Magpies led Jindera by 25 points at quarter-time when they clashed in round three before the Bulldogs got on a roll and ran-out 17-point victors.
Maher believes his team is now better equipped to handle Jindera’s pace and spread.
“We started well against Jindera last time but ran out of legs,” he said.
“There were a few undisciplined things as well and we have spoken about that at training.
“Jindera were the better side.
“I think we have improved since then though as a group.
“Players are doing their roles better.”
The return of Matt Murray last weekend from injury was a huge plus for the Magpies who will need him firing to curb Bulldog star Nick Holman’s influence.
