Only months after president Phil Ralston led the club out of recess, officials are hoping to attract a good field for the 18-hole event.
“Phil decided the community needed a golf club so he got his own tractor, cleaned up trees and logs, mowed, painted all the tee-off areas and put sand on the greens,” former Rand member and MDGA board member Stephen Kishere said.
“He did 99 per cent of it on his own and then people started to get involved and help out.
“Rand was in recess for about 12 months and I think everyone in the district loves the small club.
“The course looks magnificent.”
Thurgoona, Oaklands, Jindera, Culcairn and Howlong players have entered on Sunday with A, B and C grade competitions planned from 9am.
The tournament will carry points for the MDGA Player of the Year.
Entries are being taken by Kishere on 0412 292 172.
