The health advocate spoke at a fundraising luncheon and evening event to spread awareness of chemical toxicity in everyday products.
“In the hope of inspiring people to wellness,” she said before her presentation.
“We live in an era now where there’s so much illness and I believe that we need to become a proactive participant in our own health.
“Every minute of every day is an opportunity to learn.
“That’s what we’re all about, hopefully empowering people to be able to make informed choices.”
Therese said she appreciated coming to regional centres, away from the “mad rush” of the cities.
“It’s not how we’re meant to operate as human beings,” she said.
“Come to the country and it’s just much more relaxed and beautiful and, I don’t know, I think you guys have got it right. Even the beautiful sunset last night, these things we take so much for granted.”
