Moderate Flood Warning for the Murray River U/S of Lake Hume

In the 12 hours to 7 am Saturday, rainfall totals of up to 15 mm have been recorded in the Upper Murray River catchment.
Further rainfall totals of 5 to 10 mm, with isolated higher totals, are forecast for the remainder of Saturday.
Minor to moderate flooding is occurring in the Upper Murray catchment and will extend downstream to Jingellic during Saturday.
Upstream of Jingellic
The Murray River at Biggara exceeded the Minor Flood Level (2.0 metres) early Friday evening and is continuing to rise. Minor flooding will continue during Saturday.
Snowy Hydro have advised that releases from Khancoban were at 198 m3/sec (Minor Flood Flow 113 m3/sec) at 5:30 am Saturday and falling.
The Murray River at Bringenbrong peaked at 3.52 metres around 4am Saturday (Moderate Flood Level 3.4 metres) and is now falling. The Murray River at Bringenbrong is expected to fall below the moderate flood level Saturday morning.
Jingellic
The Murray River at Jingellic is currently below the Minor Flood Level (4.0 metres) and rising slowly. The Murray River at Jingellic is expected to exceed the minor flood level Saturday night.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued the following warning for the North East and other parts of the Victoria at 4.41am Saturday.
A cold front over central Victoria will cross the remainder of the State this morning
DAMAGING WINDS around 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of 90 to 100km/h are forecast this morning. Elevated and coastal areas are most susceptible. Wind gusts of 110 to 125 km/h are possible over Alpine areas. Wind easing from the west this morning with clearance expected around the middle of the day.
Recent wind gusts include: Mt Buller 107 km/h (03:20) and Falls Creek 91 km/h (03:30).
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
Keep clear of fallen power lines.
EARLIER COVERAGE
MINOR flood warnings were issued for the Kiewa and Ovens rivers as the big wet returned with a vengeance to North East Victoria on Friday.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued the flood warnings around lunchtime with State Emergency Services also on stand-by to respond to a severe weather warning issued mid-afternoon for the North East and other parts of the state.
Wind gusts up to 125 km/h are possible over Alpine areas were predicted with flood watch in place for the Upper Murray, Mitta, Kiewa, Ovens and King catchments.
Rainfall totals of up to 45mm were recorded in the 12 hours to noon on Friday in some places with further totals up to 50mm possible in the Upper Murray.
The Kiewa River at Mongans Bridge had reached a height of 2.5m mid-afternoon Friday and was still rising.
Wodonga Council shut all sporting grounds on Friday, but are expected to re-open on Saturday for various weekend competitions.
The most affected by the decision were junior football teams including Wodonga Bulldogs who opted to train on the club’s netball courts on Friday night before the final round of matches in the Albury-Wodonga junior league on Sunday.
The Bulldogs’ home-ground John Flower Oval and Wodonga Raiders’ Birallee Park will both host Ovens and Murray league matches on Saturday.
