A MELBOURNE man allegedly involved in several police pursuits, including a chase in Wangaratta, has been found with a sawn-off shotgun and sawn-off rifle during his arrest.

Police arrested the 29-year-old in Melbourne on Wednesday following pursuits in Wangaratta, Wallan and Chelsea in April and May.
Detectives continue to seek witnesses to a chase involving a stolen 2016 black Ford Ranger with false plates 1GM-50U on April 1.
The incident occurred about 4.30pm on the Wangaratta-Yarrawonga Road between Wangaratta and Boweya.
The police air wing was called in and searched the Warby Ranges and the Ford has not been recovered.
The 29-year-old man is facing 21 charges including conduct endangering life, dangerous driving whilst being pursued, evade police, three counts of car theft and firearms offences.
