Red balloons adorned the front of the Tallangatta Pharmacy to officially welcome back the post office, which has been refurbished to fit sorting areas and lockers.
Sandra Klippel, who was a pharmacy employee and will now run the post office, said final touches would continue but the service was fully functional as of Monday.
It's really fallen together well

“It’s really fallen together well, it took a little bit of re-arranging and to-and-fro with the builder,” she said.
“We’ve got to do some painting and get some more shelving up.
“Ever since the news came out in June we have had people in asking if they could post a letter, so we’ve put up balloons to let people know.”
Ms Klippel said the loss of banking services was the biggest issue for the town when the building on Akuna Avenue closed in March.
“Because the ANZ sub-agency we used to have in the supermarket closed, the same week the post office closed, the whole town was left stranded,” she said.
Ms Klippel said the post office would run with current staff – more positions would be dependant on demand.
“We’re just going to play it by ear and make a decision in six weeks’ time,” she said.
