Captain Fantastic opens the festival at Albury’s Regent Cinemas on Wednesday, August 17.
The drama focuses on Ben Cash (Viggo Mortensen) and his family who live in the wilderness but are forced to return to society after a family death.
Unlike previous festivals, this year all 50 films will screen just once.
The selection covers a range of movie genre with foreign language, comedy, documentary, science fiction, action, music and animation.
A highlight will be the screening, on August 27, of Ferris Bueller's Day Off to mark the 30th anniversary of the cult teen comedy’s release.
