Kotzur has set the Tallangatta and District competition alight after joining the Bulldogs from Riverina league club Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong, where he won the Jim Quinn Medal last season.
The former Albury premiership captain has been a driving force in Thurgoona’s top-three finish and will be a key to its flag prospects in the next month.
With 33 goals to his name from 16 matches, Kotzur’s ability to push forward is sure to have attracted the attention of umpires.
Kotzur is likely to face stiff competition from Rutherglen’s Martin Brennan, Kiewa-Sandy Creek’s Jason Bartel, Beechworth’s Lee Dale and Barnawartha’s Jordan Wolff for the league’s top individual honour.
More than 400 people are expected at the count, which begins at 6.30pm, at the Commercial Club in Albury.
