Police intercepted the 46-year-old Markwood man in Pinkerton Crescent, Wangaratta, about 11.20pm Saturday.
He returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.25 and had his car impounded.
It followed an incident on August 17 where the man returned a similar reading.
Acting Sergeant Luke Hawking said such a reading would severely impair the man’s driving abilities.
“Police are horrified by the fact he’s been caught twice in 10 days with high readings,” he said.
“You wouldn’t have much control over your movements at that level of intoxication.
“It’s dangerous.”
The man was released pending summons.
