The Bureau of Meteorology has warned 30mm of rain was expected across the region overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday and up to 70mm on the ranges.
Rain was expected to continue for the rest of the week and again cause stream rises and areas of minor flooding across the catchment on Wednesday.
Thunderstorms were also forecast for Wednesday around Albury and Wodonga.
