Justin Koschitzke, Adam Prior and Luke Garland each kicked three goals in the Panthers’ 66-point belting of Yarrawonga in the qualifying final and Tigers co-coach Shaun Daly said the trio commanded respect ahead of the showdown at Birallee Park.
“They work pretty well as a team, their forward line worked pretty well (against Yarrawonga),” he said.
“Once the ball got inside their forward 50m, they pretty much dominated in the air so that’s an area we will have to look at and try and limit.”
The Tigers have won both meetings between the teams convincingly this season although they took three quarters to shrug off a persistent Panthers outfit in round 10.
“We know that finals are hard to win, no matter who you play,” Daly said.
“Lavington have obviously hit some good form, beating Yarrawonga pretty comfortably. It’s going to be a bloody hard game, I have no doubt.
“We’ve probably got enough experienced heads in our team to know it’s a new season now and what’s happened in the last 18 games really doesn’t count for anything.”
