The first week was a success for the AOK, Acts of Kindness, pop-up cafe, which is run by students from the Wodonga Flexible Learning Centre.
Profits from the stand go toward the Myer and Salvation Army Gift Registry – where everyday items are purchased to assist victims of domestic violence.
About 20 baristas underwent a 10-week training course at Deco Espresso Coffee before getting behind the counter.
Teacher Jess Kellahan said they were selling about 120 cups each day.
“This helps build their skills, gets them in the community and provides different pathways,” she said.
“The students do all the orders, pay invoices, count stock and learn customer service.”
Other programs under the AOK banner include gardening, catering and carwash services on the Border.
The cafe runs from 9am-12pm weekdays.
