One voice alone may not sway a major energy company to change its ways, but as part of a chorus from across the country it might.

This was the hope of 25 renewable energy supporters as they gathered on Tuesday to call on AGL to ditch fossil fuels within the decade.
A picture of the group with a sign “Albury-Wodonga asks AGL to exit dirty energy” will be presented along with those from other communities at the energy company’s AGM later this month.
Supporter Bruce Key said he was eager to support 350.org’s national campaign, after following the issue of climate change for a decade.
“It’s a serious problem and we need to get on top of it as soon as we can,” he said.
“That’s the reason we’re here today, to try and give AGL a little prod along to get rid of coal from their portfolio of energy generators.”
Wodonga Albury Toward Climate Health member Lizette Salmon said AGL was Australia’s biggest climate polluter “by a long shot”.
“Their sustainability report has indicated they won’t exit dirty energy until 2048 and that’s far, far too late,” she said.
