The NSW Electoral Commission on Thursday confirmed the membership of the new council, following Saturday’s ballot.
Finley solicitor John Taylor and Tocumwal foreshore committee president Ross Bodey are the new members with incumbents John Bruce, Colin Jones, Cr Curtin, Matt Hannan, Daryll Morris and Denis Glanville returned.
Andrea O’Neill served on the last council, with Save Finley Hall campaigner Patricia Boyd the only female candidate at Saturday’s poll.
“I just believe if someone wants to have a go at something I don’t get particularly concerned about their gender,” Cr Curtin said when asked his thoughts on not having a woman councillor.
“If there’s no lady that put their hand up you’ve just got to move on, there’s nothing much we can do about it.”
The new council will meet on Wednesday when a mayoral election is held.
