He’s just glad he’s playing.
The Panthers assistant coach feared his year was over when he injured his ankle against Yarrawonga in May but returned to the field in the final round of the home and away season.
Dickson has been among the Panthers’ best players in their three finals and will assume a key role in the grand final against Albury.
Where exactly, though, remains to be seen.
“It will all depend on what they do with their side, the beauty of it is that we are a pretty versatile side,” he said.
The 29-year-old, who is closing in on 100 games with the Panthers, said his time on the sidelines had some benefits. He filled in for coach James Saker when the Panthers took on Corowa-Rutherglen in round 16.
“I got some time to spend some time in the coaches’ box, a week doing the running, then down on the boundary as the boys came off, I really enjoyed it,” he said.
