Gill, who has a handicap of two, shot 149 across 36 holes at Wodonga and Thurgoona to salute in the boys’ section while Peters, who plays off four, took out the girls’ division with a scratch score of 165.
Thurgoona professional and junior co-ordinator Penny Graeber said 24 boys and girls, aged from 12 to 20, took part in the two-day tournament.
“Maddie and Daniel are really going ahead with their golf and it’s a good benchmark for the other young ones coming through to see how much they’re improving,” she said.
“The tournament is a really good thing for golf on the Border, and for other kids in the district as well.
“We’ve had a great weekend.”
Jack McAuliffe was the boys’ nett winner on 136 while Georgia Payne took out the girls section with a nett 159.
Wodonga won the teams event.
