The man did not register his 12-game QuickPick entry to a Tatts Card when he purchased it at Mt Beauty Newsagency, so got quite the surprise when he discovered he’d won division one.
The owners of Mt Beauty Newsagency were thrilled for their winning customer, and chuffed that the town had racked up another win.
The winner, who wished to remain anonymous, said it was unbelievable given he nearly threw the ticket away because he didn’t have his glasses on.
“But this time I thought I’d better double check it because I’d heard there was a division one winner on the weekend,” he said. “I couldn’t believe it when I turned out to be the lucky one.
“I’ve got a big family so I can’t wait to tell them the news, they’ll each get a fair bit, I’ll be ringing my wife first – this will be fantastic for us.”
