Jared McKenzie, 14, received approval from Netball Victoria and Upper Murray Football Netball League to be part of Border Walwa’s D grade side this year. To play in 2017 he will need to go through similar steps.
Border Walwa president Lou Coutts said the club was again willing to act on Jared’s behalf.
“Border Walwa will be looking to undertake the same process next year to try and facilitate Jared continuing his netball career because he loves it so much,” she said.
Usually a defender, Jared helped his team into the finals, finished third in the league best and fairest and runner-up in his club award.
“It was really good to feel more included,” he said.
“I would really like to play again. I could play mixed (netball) in town but it wouldn’t be the same. It’s like a community sort of thing, you just make friends easy and get to see them every weekend.”
