The Water Industry Operators Association of Australia will judge the 2016 Best Tap Water in Australia competition on October 19.
The winner of the 2016 Best Tap Water in Australia competition will represent Australia at the Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting Competition.
Other finalists include NSW: Bowraville WTP (Nambucca Shire Council); Queensland: Barcaldine WTP (Barcaldine Regional Council); SA: Morgan WTP (SA Water); and Tasmania: Barrington WTP (TasWater).
WIOA chief operations officer Craig Mathisen said the competition was testament to the high quality of Australian water.
“Many of us turn on the faucets for a drink of water, to cook and take a shower and give little thought to what it takes to operate the municipal water infrastructure.”
