“We are rapt to have the guys back at the club, as they are Lavington people deep down,” coach James Saker said.
The pair first played senior football with the Panthers, Nick part of the club’s last premiership in 2005.
The duo joined North Albury, and, along with younger twins Luke and Tom, became only the fourth set of brothers to field four players in the one team, in 2009.
The older siblings joined the exodus from the Hoppers last year and spent the past season with Jindera in the Hume League, the classy Kris claiming the best and fairest.
“I know when we used to play Kris, he was our number one concern,” Saker said.
“He is versatile and his skill level is elite.
“We tried to negate his influence, but good players have the ability to get the ball.
“And Nick has a very good ability to find his own ball too, he is a good decision-maker, and with his wealth of experience, we will look to use him in a coaching role.”
Nick Holman polled the most votes in last year’s Morris Medal, but was ineligible due to suspension.
The pair’s signing is a major step towards tackling the biggest obstacle in country football – stopping Albury.
The Tigers have won six of the past eight premierships, and had six players with experience at AFL clubs in last month’s 40-point thumping of the Panthers.
In further good news, Lavington expects the pair will attract only one point apiece under the player points system.
“Retention was our number one priority, with topping-up second on the list,” Saker said.
“We may be looking at another one or two, but if we were not able to pick up any more players, I am very satisfied with our list.”
