A jury was unable to reach a verdict in the trial against Anthony Craig Cromb, 55, in October last year over the death of Troy Wetmore.
The new indictment on the less serious charge was put to Cromb in the District Court in Albury on Tuesday at 10.03am.
In a clear voice, Cromb leaned forward from the dock into a court microphone to say he was “guilty”.
Cromb ran over Mr Wetmore, 35, in his utility on a property near Holbrook on April 8, 2014.
Sentencing submissions are expected to take between two to three hours.
But it won’t be known until late morning or early afternoon as to whether these will take place on Tuesday or Wednesday.
