Albury Integrated Health will host a Let’s Talk Women’s Health seminar in Albury on Sunday, October 23.
Albury Integrated Health managing director Dr Thanuja Vanderhoek said the biggest concern raised by women in consultations throughout her 12-year career related to stress and overload from their modern day juggle of life.
Dr Vanderhoek said she would highlight factors that contributed to this juggle for women and discuss how a balance was vital for health and wellbeing.
“I’m speaking about the latest scientific research and grounding with practical approaches to encourage women to positively take hold of their modern day lives,” she said.
Together with musculoskeletal therapist Emily Manson, Dr Vanderhoek opened Albury Integrated Health 18 months ago to offer a range of complementary services.
Dr Vanderhoek said Albury Integrated Health specialists and other guest speakers would address a range of issues pertinent to women at the forum.
“We’re covering topics not generally spoken about,” she said.
Naturopath and nutritionist Annie Falcke will cast some light on the complex area of women's hormones and provide practical strategies to look after hormonal health.
Birth & Bub Fit founder and instructor, mother of four and a Charles Sturt University lecturer, Dr Simone O’Connor will speak about maintaining a healthy pelvic floor.
Osteopath and pilates instructor Annabel Ranford will discuss how thoughts and emotions influenced women’s experience of pain.
North East Feast owner Cate Hardman will tantalise tastebuds and spark inner health through her topic of Food is Medicine.
Dr Vanderhoek said the health service was community-minded and aspired to sponsor local charities and causes.
All proceeds from the women’s health seminar will go to Ella's Ear Fundraiser.
“They need to raise $10,000 in four weeks and they have four events to go including the women’s health seminar,” she said.
Ticket price includes a goodie bag. Bookings essential, phone (02) 6041 1329.
The seminar runs from 1pm to 4pm at 663 Pemberton Street.
