The 21-year-old, who was delisted by the Sydney Swans this month, will play with the SANFL club next year as he targets an AFL comeback.
“If I don’t get picked up I’ll head over there,” McNeil said yesterday.
“I’m looking forward to it.
“They’re a side on the rise.”
The Tigers were rapt to unveil the Border star as their latest recruit.
“Dylan is a tremendous recruiting selection and will take on a role as a key midfielder and will undoubtedly add speed and ball-winning ability to the current playing group,” a club statement read.
McNeil, a former Murray Bushrangers captain and best-and-fairest winner, skippered NSW-ACT Rams at the under-18 national championships in 2009.
He was All Australian that year and won the Hunter Harrison Medal for the best-and-fairest player in division 2 at the championships.
He spent three years with the Swans.
