ALBURY’S most generous bartender has received a huge financial boost a little more than a week before he and nine others set out on his Melbourne-to-Albury walk for his cause.

Daniel Kuzeff, who is working for free at the Bended Elbow to raise the money to build a village for 40 poor families in the Philippines, has gained the North Albury Rotary Club’s support.
The club donated $5600, which is enough for two homes.
North Albury international services director Howard Jacob said Mr Kuzeff’s presentation had made the club’s decision easy.
“Daniel left an engraving on our minds, of his dedication and passion,” Mr Jacob said.
“I just think he’s an outstanding young gentleman — we couldn’t think of a cause more worthy.”
Belvoir Wodonga, Rutherglen and Wodonga West Rotary clubs have also joined in, all pledging a $2800 home.
As for the walk that kicks off on November 4, participant Nick Blomeley, a Wodonga businessman, has been hard at work. He has organised $30,000 to be donated if he completes his walk.
Mr Kuzeff, 22, has raised about $50,000 for the walk which, on top of the $70,000 he and Bended Elbow owner Gavin Grant have raised, has made the village a reality.
With construction of homes starting immediately, Mr Kuzeff said he was looking forward to seeing the results early next year.
“It’s a great feeling.I’m very excited to go over (to the Philippines), just to meet the families and connect,” he said.
The week-long walk will kick off in Melbourne on November 4.
