“I thought Tyler had won because he was in front after 18 rounds, but I didn’t know they counted the finals matches as well,” Neagle said.
Midfielder Steve Jolliffe came third on 238, followed by Brad St John (234) and Ethan Boxall (173).
Neagle returned from the Northern Territory for Saturday night’s presentation night after playing for Waratah last weekend.
It was his first senior best and fairest award.
“I was pretty happy with my year,” he said.
“I feel like I can get a bit more consistent though.”
In the reserves, Aaron Spargo polled 98 votes to edge out Jack Haugen by two and Riley Kennett won the thirds from Rick Read.
Promising youngster Brooke Pryse took out the A grade netball.
She won by eight votes from Julia Clarke, with Alison Leech finishing third.
Karina Martin took out B grade.
